Many studies indicate that Black people have the highest death rate for cancer overall.  They also state that Black people have a lower 5-year survival cancer rate. Also, according to the CDC, Black people are more likely than White people to be diagnosed with female breast, lung, and colorectal cancers at a late stage.

All resources indicate that early detection and awareness can help prevent cancer or find it early, when it's easier to treat.

Please support our Chapter's initiative (Pink Elegance Ball) to bring greater knowledge of Breast Cancer Month and raise awareness of early detection of cancer.
